Meet Mathieu

Mathieu is a second year M.S. student in the Environmental and Water Resources Engineering (EWRE) Program within the Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering (CAEE) Department at UT. He is originally from Coral Springs, FL and received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2021.

Mathieu researches the impacts of climate change on water quality in Alaska with Dr. Navid Saleh and Dr. Mary Jo Kirisits. The project focuses on the interactions between glaciers, permafrost, rivers, lakes, and buildings relevant to Native Alaskan community partners. Mathieu’s broad research interests are in environmental justice, centering community knowledge, and public outreach.

When not in the classroom or in the lab, you’ll find him listening to music and podcasts, doing yoga, or chatting with friends.
